You could spend your next four years on a college campus, racking up debt for a bachelor’s degree with no clear path to your next job, let alone a lasting career.
Or you could spend your next four years getting paid for on-the-job experience while we cover the costs of your education. You’ll be ready for your state plumbing license, with other license opportunities just around the corner. With the real-world skills you’ve learned and a license in your hand, you’ll be employable just about anywhere (but we’ll hope you’ll stick around and work at Camblin!).
The Experience
- Four year apprenticeship program
Classes held during the work day, one day a week - Work full-time at Camblin for required on-the-job training
- Mentor one-on-one with an experienced Camblin employee

Upon completion of the program, you’ll be eligible to sit for the Iowa Journeyman Plumbing exam, and once passed, you can apply for your Journeyman Plumbing license. Since Camblin pays the cost, you get a four year education with no debt and earn a living at the same time!
Once you are licensed through the program you are eligible to sit for HVAC, Refrigeration, and Hydronics without participating in another apprentice program for each discipline. All you need to do is study and take the test.
I had just moved home from college and was looking for a job. I didn’t know much about plumbing then but I got hired, saw the opportunities, and haven’t looked back since.
Everyday is a new challenge and turning an idea or drawing into something real can be very fulfilling.
